Milo was sitting on the floor with his head on Eric's knee and practicing forming a shadow between his two hands. There was a little gray wolf on the hearth rug next to a girl who was polishing and restringing her bows. There was a little brown wolf tussling with a rope toy and trying to get a HUGE black wolf to play with him.

A wolf almost as big trotted in and nuzzled up to the woman and the little gray wolf before wandering over to nuzzle against Milo's leg. He flopped between the two groups.

Milo let his little shadowling go free in favor of scritching between Esteban's ears. Christine giggled at him.

"You're getting Esteban all spoiled to constant attention, Milo."

The little gray wolf suddenly perked up and pounced the little brown wolf.

Esteban made a happy noise and his tail wagged playfully as he licked at Milo's hand in thanks for a moment.

He took a second, though, to make puppy eyes at Christine.

She set her bow aside and held her arms out to him.

"Oh, come here, you know I'm teasing."

[super_danii]

There was one last lick to Milo before he galloped over to Christine and went right into her arms for nuzzling.

Milo pouted a little at the loss of "his" wolf and snuggled in closer to Eric as he watched Christine lavish Esteban with affection.

"They're so pretty."

[super_danii]

Eric chuckled and nodded.

"Yes, they are. Especially with their third, if I'm to be honest."

Eric nodded towards the little gray wolf.

"He's with them? I didn't know. He's always reading."

[super_danii]

"He is. They found each other first, actually. Esteban and his little Stanislav. The boy's family was forced to leave their homeland due to an unfortunate incident and they happened to meet in the market one day. Inseparable ever since."

He smiled at Christine.

"Our beautiful huntress came later."

"It's so sweet. I've always been jealous of bonded pairs."

He watched as the little gray wolf pounced onto Christine and Esteban, and the little brown wolf pounced the hugs black wolf and got pinned to the floor under a massive paw for his trouble.

"Bonded triad," he pointed out with a little smile.

"Esteban is not your average wolf."

[super_lars]

"No, he's magnificent."

Lucas wuffled at that.

[super_danii]

Esteban wuffled as well, licking Christine one more time before running over to bowl Milo over with licks and nuzzles.

Milo laughed and caught him and let his shadows run skittering playfully around the room.

[super_danii]

Esteban licked him a few times before shifting up to kiss him firmly. Then he shifted back and ran around before tugging the little brown wolf into a game.

Eric chuckled.

"Lucas isn't quite as playful as Esteban."

"Does Lucas ever move, or shift into human form?"

But then he was moaning into the kiss from Esteban.

Eric just watched with a smile before the wolf broke off to play with his little brother.

[super_lars]

The little gray wolf jumped into the kissy play pile, Lucas went back to sleep, and Christine went back to her bows. Milo slipped up into Eric's lap for another kiss.

"You're always looking at that glass. What do you see there?"

He looked up from the glass and put it down with a shrug.

"Just something which gives me perspective. It was a gift from an old friend."

[super_lars]

"Which friend? Will I ever meet them?"

[super_danii]

"His name is Frederick. And you deal with him daily, though perhaps not in ways you understand."

He kissed Milo's hair.

"You'll probably meet him soon. He likes to visit."

[super_lars]

"Good."

He snuggled up and took a kiss.

"I love it here."

[super_danii]

Eric smiled and kissed his cheek.

"I'm glad you like it. I hoped you'd stay."

[super_lars]

He nodded.

"I don't have anyone to go home to anymore. My mother died in the influenza, my brother was killed in guard duty."

And Eric knew about his father.

He nodded.

"You shouldn't feel as if you have no options, though. As much as I wish for you to stay here with me."
